Original and replacement high beam light bulbs for Soarers

Firstly, there is the original KOITO 55W/12V part that fits direct to the Soarer high beam headlamps.

Secondly, there is an alternative part made by NARVA known as NARVA PLUS 30. It is Xenon filled and designated HB3 60W/12V. However, it is not suitable as a direct replacement and needs some modifications before it can be used in the Soarer, as described below.

As can be seen above, the filament inside the KOITO bulb is positioned across the tube and in the NARVA bulb is positioned along the tube.

The only difference between the KOITO and NARVA high-beam bulbs is in the shape of the fastening lugs.

The difference can be eliminated by filing the one excessively large lug of the NARVA light bulb located close to the socket to the shape of the smaller lug on the KOITO bulb.

There is no difference between the KOITO and NARVA bulbs in the shape of the wiring connector receptacle. Inside both light-bulb sockets there are two internal ribs. The NARVA product can be plugged directly to the Soarer harness.

Following the one minor modification the NARVA light bulbs can be installed in the high-beam lights of the Soarer.
