Pictures below show the difference in height of rubber blocks between a new mount on the left and a well used one on the right.
The worn out mount rubbers sagged, allowing the top and bottom steel part of the mount in the centre to come in contact and transfer driveline vibrations to the car body. (Compare the relative positions of red and green lines). Replacement is easy.
